The Financial Planning, Management and Research Administration team provides support, leadership and resources to encourage responsible stewardship of financial resources. Staff members work collaboratively with faculty and doctoral students to prepare grant proposals and administer sponsored projects. The team also provides data pulls and analysis for internal and external reporting.
Financial and Research Administration staff serves the College as a collaborative partner to help students, faculty and staff with procurement, financial services, budgeting, grant pre and post award and related business support needs.
Business Analyst/Assistant Director

As part of the Business Office team, Camie prepares financial reports and reviews expenditures to ensure budget conformance. She maintains internal control policies and procedures, monitoring follow through and ensuring the department remains compliant. Camie also assists with various business office functions, Concur, ad hoc reporting, supports finance manager, and provides back up to the College Research Administrator. Prior to joining Taubman College, Camie worked as a Senior Budget Analyst for UM Financial Operations and Office of the General Counsel. She received Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University, and is currently working towards Masters of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Business Intelligence Analyst

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, Ryan provides decision support using university-wide and college specific data in the form of reports and tools for college users. He also assists in preparation of the quarterly college budget and many of the processes that go into creating it throughout the year. He is available to assist with any Excel and Business Objects issues that arise. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Ryan worked at Accenture doing financial reporting, analysis and forecasting for client contracts. He received a B.S. in Management Information Systems and Finance from Oakland University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Research Administration Associate

Marina is responsible for coordinating the administrative research process for submitting proposals, including providing assistance with the preparation of budgets and supporting documentation, coordination as appropriate with internal and external entities, and ensuring timely routing of proposals through the institutional approval process. She maintains appropriate communications with faculty, Taubman administrators and ORSP and Sponsored Programs for pre- and post-award activity. Post-award activities are primarily financial in nature and include projecting and updating encumbrances, preparing and reviewing financial transactions including monitoring appropriateness for grant funding and allowability.

As the Accounting/Office Specialist, Samantha Burns works closely with suppliers to make sure they are paid, faculty to help purchase items, students to assist with reimbursements, and staff for purchasing and payroll matters. Prior to joining U-M, Samantha worked for Orthopedic Surgery Associates. She received her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting in 2015, and she will receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business in 2018.
