If you have questions about Michigan residency requirements see the University of Michigan Residency Guidelines.
If there is any question about whether you are a resident of the State of Michigan, it is best to file a residency application as early as possible.
The University of Michigan requires payment of tuition, fees, room, and board charges by the end of the first month of each term. Please check the University of Michigan Registrar's Office website for current tuition figures. The Registrar's Office is the authoritative source of tuition information for the University. The payment schedule for academic year 2016–17 is summarized as follows:
Fall: August 31, 2016
Winter: January 6, 2017
The University of Michigan provides an optional payment plan which allows parents/students to spread payment of anticipate expenses for fall and winter terms over 10 payments. The payment plan is an alternative option to the normal payment schedule. Students and authorized parent/family may enroll in the U-M Payment Plan through Wolverine Access.
