| Description | This course offers an introduction to the study of construction materials and methods. The course stresses general principles that affect construction and its relationship to design intentions. It is divided into three sections: masonry, light frame, and enclosure. Specific topics within these sections include unit modularity, wall systems, floor and roof systems, waterproofing, prefabrication, and project delivery. Exercises that provide a focus for discussion and practice relating to the broader issues of the course center on masonry and light wood frame. |
