Course List
| Term | Fall 2009 |
| Class | ARCH 506 |
| Class Title | Launching Design Practices |
| Description |
This course is a hands-on workshop that is both a practice cognate seminar and “design studio” with a single purpose “problem”: to design a firm for a real time and place, with real prospects and constraints. While you’ll develop a theory of your business, this is not a theory/philosophy course, per se. And while you’ll engage specific design assignments – from logo to practice space – this is not a design studio, per se. We’ll not long explore unrealistically edgy, alternative, untested, or un-testable forms of practice, as our theoretical focus will be on pragmatics, as you will design a practice that is plausibly buildable. |
