Description This course provides a thorough overview of contemporary community development practice in U.S. cities. It addresses both “top-down” and “bottom-up” development approaches, but focuses heavily on community development corporations and other community-based organizations. Housing, economic development, and community organizing as approaches to neighborhood revitalization receive particular attention.
