Since there is a growing need, I am focusing my research on reducing building energy demand. Previous studies are mostly conducted through analytic methodologies, such as simplified models. Keeping this point in mind, I am inclined to further my research on the basis of empirical approach. Through actual measurements (weather condition, building energy performance) as well as mathematical equations, it may be possible to analyze and predict energy performance with higher accuracy. However, disparities in energy performance may occur when applied to different types of buildings. A feedback should be given in order to minimize these gaps depending on each weather condition. My research goal is to provide a foundation for establishing Smart BEMs or other future-oriented technologies by finding technical solutions to reduce energy demand in buildings.
