The Mirlyn catalog enables you to search and browse the University of Michigan Library's collection of books, journals, audio/video materials, electronic resources and more. It gives you access to the catalogs of the University Library (Ann Arbor), Clements Library, Bentley Historical Library, UM Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI), and UM-Flint.

College Libraries

Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library (AAEL)
Located in the University of Michigan Duderstadt Center directly across Bonisteel Boulevard from the Art and Architecture Building. The AAEL houses the core library collections for Taubman College, the School of Art & Design, and the College of Engineering.

AAEL Imageworks
Includes over 100,000 35mm slides, videos, and blueprints. Over 200 innovative materials from Material ConneXion are on display for onsite study. Material ConneXion's database is also available with information on thousands of materials.

Reference hours are held at the table outside the Media Center to help answer questions about library resources or for advice on getting started with research projects. These hours are:

  • Monday – 11 AM-1 PM
  • Wednesday – 2-4 PM

The Duderstadt Center also includes:

  • 3D Lab:
    GeoWall, 3D printer, render farm and an Onyx-driven CAVE environment
  • Learning Technology Lab:
    for help with CTools and website development
  • Collaborative Technology Lab:
    developing web-based instructional and research tools
  • Digital Media Tools Lab:
    includes the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) Living Lab for exploring existing and emerging digital asset management technologies
  • Smart Studios:
    video, audio, and electronic music recording studios, a media conversion facility, and digital video editing suites

During the academic year, the Duderstadt Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Sweetland Center for Writing

The Sweetland Center for Writing provides writing support to undergraduate and graduate students. It also provides faculty curriculum and student-evaluation support.

English Language Institute (ELI)

The mission of the English Language Institue (ELI) Instructional Division is to provide English language instruction to members of the University of Michigan community that promotes effective intercultural communication within the academic community at the University of Michigan.
