Alexander Maymind joins the faculty as the 2012-2013 Walter B. Sanders Fellow. Previously, he taught at Cornell University Department of Architecture in both Ithaca and New York City. His teaching included a seminar on Rem Koolhaas/ OMA through the lens of the architectural model, a graduate architecture studio which re-visited the exemplary urban design theories of Colin Rowe and O.M. Ungers, and a textual analysis seminar which interrogated the linguistic analogy within architecture. His speculative design, research, criticism, and interviews have been published in Log, Pidgin Magazine, Thresholds, Conditions Magazine, and One:Twelve.

Maymind received a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University School of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture. Professionally he has worked for Eisenman Architects, and Richard Meier and Partners. He has collaborated with LEF.T. Architects, Dagmar Richter, and Andrew Zago. His current projects include editing and assembling a forthcoming book of collected essays from the critic Jeffrey Kipnis; and a series of comparative essays on prominent architectural figures.
