This talk is a practice run for Kush Patel's upcoming job interview for an assistant professor position in architectural design and the humanities. The talk will explore questions of architectural expertise and social engagement in the city. Methodologically, the talk will connect his dissertation research on Henri Lefebvre, Lucien Kroll, and Bernard Tschumi to involvements in design practice and architectural pedagogy. The talk will include a mock interview with five faculty members (S. Campbell, L. Groat, S. Haar, G. Thün, and C. Zimmerman) and group discussion following a 45-minute long presentation.
Food & refreshments will be provided.
