Lunch & Learn: Tommy Haddock (UM B.S. Arch 2007)

Alumni Lunch & Learn: SANAA / Approach from Abroad

After six years at Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA, Tommy Haddock discusses experience in international design and the approach to architecture from the Tokyo based office.

Tommy Haddock joined the office of Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA in Tokyo, Japan in 2007. During his six years there, Haddock built a diverse design base for developing and executing projects internationally. In lead roles including that of project architect on the recently completed Grace Farms, in New Canaan, CT, he worked to synthesize the visions and goals of client, architect and user through a collaborative creative process. The ability to actualize the ideas of and for a diverse group driving towards something new, is what Tommy strives for in his design practice. Since his time at SANAA, Haddock has returned to the US, where he has started his own architecture practice based in San Francisco.

Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP here.  Please bring your own drink.
