Do you struggle with perfectionism or shame? Do you find yourself wishing you could do more of the things you are passionate about? Many people struggle with feelings of wanting to be perfect, but always end up feeling “less than”. With this 3 part workshop, we will explore where those feelings come from, how to cope with them, and go on to have a vibrant life/school balance. This workshop series will also provide some concrete skills to overcome self-doubt and perfectionism, while also establishing a way to approach life that allows us to increase our comfort with vulnerability, embrace our imperfections, and help us create a new sense of connection with our work and others. We will do this by learning about a new concept and having dialogue among the workshop participants each week, with exercises to practice between workshops.
Karen Henry, from U-M Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be leading the workshops. The workshops will be held Thursdays, October 12, 19 and 26 from noon - 1 pm. A free lunch will be included. Please note that attendance at all three is strongly encouraged and new participants cannot sign up after the first session. RSVP here. The workshop is capped at 20 to encourage participation.
