@NOON: UN-WORKING SPACE
Join us for the final event in the UN-WORKING series of workshops on February 18, 2019 with Francesco Marullo, Architect and Assistant Professor at UIC. Funded through the Equity Innovation initiative here at Taubman College, the project seeks to re-frame issues of labor, precarity, and production within architectural education. The event, UN-WORKING SPACE, will take place in the Taubman Commons and is open to the whole school.
The format of the event will begin with a presentation from Francesco about the relationship between labor and the built environment, interrogating the spatial conditions of work. After a Q&A session, we will break out into a review and discussion of student work from a brief design charette designed by Francesco: 'Room for Thought' - a space of retreat for the contemporary worker. Students - please keep an eye out for a follow-up email where you can sign up to participate in the workshop and learn more about the specifics of the project - LUNCH and PRINTING COSTS will be provided to participants!
