Maciej Kaczynski is a lecturer at the University of Michigan where he teaches a graduate seminar on digital fabrication. He also acts as Assistant Director of the Digital Fabrication Lab.

At the FABLab, Maciej researches new methods of material manipulation and assembly made possible by tools of robotic and digital fabrication. Ever the material enthusiast, his current body of research also focuses on upon the flow of resources of the built environment: the production, distribution, and consumption of building materials as well as consequential waste streams.

Maciej has extensive experience designing, coordinating, and producing high-quality installation work, specifically, digitally fabricated pieces. He has designed and constructed installations at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Artists Space NY, RISD, University of Michigan. Currently, he is researching the fabrication of an installation at the University of Michigan Museum of Art.

His professional experience includes work at MOS, KVA MATx, Office dA, and Studio for Architecture. He is a partner at the LA based Studio Big Obvious. Maciej received his M.Arch with advanced placement from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The University at Buffalo, SUNY.
