Roddier and Sirota Present at Closing Event of Venice Biennale

Mireille Roddier, Associate Professor of Architecture and Anya Sirota, Assistant Professor of Architecture, represented the Metropolitan Observatory for Digital Culture and Representation (MODCaR) at the Finissage and “Grande Meeting di chiusura” (big closing event) of the Venice biennale’s 13th International Architecture Exhibition “Common Grounds.”

Imaging Detroit

Roddier and Sirota were invited to present their Research on the City project “Imaging Detroit” in the morning session titled “Making Visible the Collective Value,” and to lead one of the break out working groups in which Venetians were invited to discuss the state of abandoned buildings in their city.

Their panel “Global Perspectives: Finding Common Ground” was shared with collectives such as Theatrum Mundi, muf architecture/art, Crimson Architectural Historians and We Are Here Venice. The event was held on November 24th in the Teatro alle Tese, at the Arsenale.
