WNKSHP launches The Bump Shelf

WNKSHP launches The Bump Shelf

Taubman graduates Nisha Rasik (M.Arch.‘11) and Sam Senn (M. Arch.‘11) recently launched a Kickstarter page for their unique product, The Bump Shelf. The pair, cofounders of the WNKSHP workshop, created The Bump Shelf as a take on the traditional floating shelf. WNKSHP’s work acts as a creative way to melt furniture into the landscape of the home. The 10.5” x 42” wood shelf is fabricated in the same style as skateboards, with a form created from bending thin layers of longboard veneer. The result is a solid structure that appears lightly draped over supports on the wall.

WNKSHP – pronounced “wink shop” – is a San Francisco-based workshop which uses digital fabrication techniques with a special detail in every product, like a wink or shared secret. The Bump Shelf, for instance, “winks” with an accent color enhancing its bump profile. Complementing The Bump Shelf is the smaller, scaled down Baby Bump, created in the same style from 100% wool felt and steel hardware. The Bumb Shelf Kickstarter campaign, launched on November 11th, lasts until December 12th.
