Taubman Faculty Members to Speak at Inaugural Black in Design Conference        

Mitch McEwen and Craig Wilkins will be speaking at the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s inaugural Black in Design Conference October 9th-10th. Assistant Professor McEwen teaches in the areas of Urban Architecture, Algorithmic Design, and Zoning and Urban Design, and is Principal of McEwen Studio and Partner at A(n) Office. Craig Wilkins, Lecturer in Architecture, focuses on the dialogue between space, race, and music. Saturday, October 10th from 9:45 A.M. -10:45 A.M., McEwen will be facilitating a session on Building. Wilkins will be contributing to a panel discussion on Regional Concerns later that day.

The Black in Design Conference is organized by the African American Student Union at the Harvard GSD. The conference seeks to recognize the contributions of African descendants to the design field and broaden the definition of what it means to be a designer. Conversations will focus on all scales of design: building, neighborhood, city, region and the globe.
