The Architects Newspaper interviewed Associate Professors Geoffrey Thün and Kathy Velikov as they prepared for the 2016 ACADIA conference hosted by Taubman College. They spoke about this year’s theme of “Posthuman Frontiers: Data, Designers, and Cognitive Machines” and how architects and designers are finding new ways to work with machines “programmed with capacities such as sensing, recognition, decision-making, problem-solving, memory, or autonomous behavior” to create interactive and responsive built environments.
