Dean Ponce de Leon to address UM on Architecture, Leadership as part of Women's Leadership Series

Dean Monica Ponce de Leon will speak about her leadership experiences, both past and present, as part of the Women's Leadership Series, sponsored by Women's Forum and University Unions Arts and Program. The program provides an opportunity for current and former campus leaders to collaborate, network, share ideas and hear from prominent University women about their leadership experiences.
Dean of Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning since Sept. 2008, Dean Ponce de Leon is also a co-founder of the internationally know design practice, Office dA. She has received numerous individual awards, and her practice and received over 30 design awards. Most recently, Office dA received the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment's Top Ten Green Projects for 2008 for the Macallen Building located in Boston, MA. She received a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Miami, and a master's of architecture in urban design from Harvard.
The Dean's research interests include Latin American architecture, eco-tourism, and public infrastructure in the tropics.
