Lecture: "The City of Desire, the City of Possibilities"
Johanson Charles Gallery
A lecture from Lars Graebner, an architect and lecturer at Taubman College.
“Current dynamic changes in our economic and social environment no longer match the nostalgic concept associated with the term ‘city’. We have to rethink and radically adjust our vision of what it means to develop a viable city,” he says.
Graebner believes Detroit has valuable unrecognized assets and possibilities for a new urban environment we may not realize. In this lecture he will present realized examples, which could create a desire for a socially, economically, culturally and environmentally sustainable city – a city, which will look quite different from the one, we anticipate.
