Taubman College Commencement Ceremony

Commencement activities for the University of Michigan will take place Friday, April 30, Saturday, May 1, and Sunday May 2, 2011. Commencement exercises for Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning will take place at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Hill Auditorium. There is no charge and tickets are not required.
Graduation Foto will take a class photograph on the steps of the Rackham Building at 11:00 a.m. They will also take a photograph of each student as they cross the stage and as they leave the stage. They will provide color proofs to you if you provide your address. There is no charge and no obligation to purchase.
There will be a reception on Saturday evening prior to the ceremony from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at The University of Michigan Museum of Art for all Taubman College graduates and their families.
Academic attire is required of all graduates and candidates who plan to participate and is available for purchase or rental mid-March at three area bookstores listed below. Undergraduates will need a bachelor’s gown and a mortar board with tassel. Graduates will order a master’s gown, mortarboard with tassel, and the appropriate hood. It is lined with satin in school colors (maize and blue for UM) and a lavender (or purple, or blue-violet) velvet band which represents the disciplines of architecture and planning.
