Claflin University

In April 2009, Centennial Professor of Urban and Regional Planning June Manning Thomas hosted a recruiting event for potential Taubman students at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Professor Thomas’s father, Dr. H.V. Manning was a past President of the University who raised the funds for and supervised the construction of the H.V. Manning library, named in his honor. Her mother, Mrs. E.A. Manning, was an associate professor of educational statistics.
