Phil D'Anieri teaches upper-level undergraduate courses for Taubman College and for LSA's Program in the Environment. A former journalist, legislative policy analyst, and grantmaker, he received his Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan in 2007.
His research has focused on the politics of planning at the metropolitan scale, including a historical case study of Detroit. He is currently researching the history of the Appalachian Trail.
