Urban and Regional Planning Open House

The Urban and Regional Planning Program hosted its open house April 2-4, 2009. Friday was a day of faculty and prospective student introductions, school tours, one-on-one meetings with current students, group meetings with faculty advisors, and a faculty Symposium. Prospective students were present for the annual launch of "AGORA: The Urban Planning and Design Journal of the University of Michigan." The students also attended a guest lecture from nationally recognized mayor John Fetterman of Braddock, Penn., a town that many have fled since the collapse of the steel industry in the '70s and '80s. He is currently working on attracting new residents to the area from the artistic, urbanist, and creative communities. Saturday events included presentations by current students and a tour of Detroit led by Eric Dueweke, Community Partnership Manager.
