2009 Scholarship Competition Details
The University of Michigan and Urban Land Institute Real Estate Forum will award up to five $2,000 scholarships to students at the 23rd Annual UM/ULI Real Estate Forum being held November 11–12, 2009 at the Michigan League in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The scholarships are funded by donations from Butzel Long, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW Detroit) and others.
UM graduate students who study business, architecture, urban planning, public policy, law, natural resources or engineering and wish to be considered for one of the $2,000 scholarships should provide an essay on the following:
“You have all lived in, or visited, attractive, walkable neighborhoods during your life, and we all want to know what made them so appealing. In one page, double spaced, please describe their special allure and what role you would like to play in replicating that experience as you go forth in life. Be illustrative and specific. Even pick a future town or neighborhood for yourself!”
Email your 1 page essay and 1 page resume to both Peter Allen (ptallen@umich.edu) and Jim Kosteva (jkosteva@umich.edu) no later than 5:00 pm, October 18th. Please request a confirmation from both as your receipt. The winners will be announced about October 30th. You must attend the Real Estate Forum (www.umuliforum.com) on Thursday, November 12th at the Michigan League to be a winner. Winners will be determined based on your essay, your resume showing promise in some aspect of real estate, and your current graduate program.
