Course Detail

Term Fall 2018
Class ARCH 603
Class Title Reading…The Language of Post-Modern Architecture
Description “Reading…” is a discussion-based reading seminar, each year focusing on a different significant text in the development of architectural theory. The effort of the term consists of a chapter-by-chapter reading of the main text, with other materials (texts, projects, etc.) considered as necessary. Students will follow along with the readings, write weekly responses to the text, contribute to the seminar discussions and write a final paper as a “late” book review of the text being studied.

The text for fall 2017 will be The Language of Post-Modern Architecture by Charles Jencks (1977).
