Etienne Participates In Health Equity in Action Forum

Assistant Professor of Urban and Regional Planning Harley Etienne was a panelist at this year’s Health Equity In Action Forum at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. The panel took place on September 5, 2017 and discussed connections between the response to the Flint water crisis and 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The panel was hosted by the Health Equity Leadership Pipeline Collaborative which seeks to increase the impact of healthcare leadership in addressing issues of health equity by supporting research on education and professional training in the field. Christopher Clarke, the Program Director of The Collaborative hopes the discussing these two issues would “provide important lessons for building sustainable health equity in action."

Etienne was joined on by James Taylor (Chief Diversity Officer of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), George Hurtt (President and Founder of the Hurtt Foundation), Marlisa Hardy (Project Manager at the Houston Methodist Hospital), and Gyasi Chisley (Chief Strategy Officer and  SVP of Payment Policy/Innovation at UnitedHealthcare).
