Favorite book and whyThe Color Purple by Alica Walker because it was a powerful story of resilience. I also really enjoy the movie.

DEI Contribution/Highlight: I have helped advance diversity, equity, and inclusion at Taubman College through facilitating the formation of the Taubman College Student Council. This student council embodies DEI through bringing together the voices of students from all degree programs to represent the student body. The formation of the council will allow this years’ members to determine the structure and vision of a council unique to Taubman College, a practice that is important in establishing an equitable environment. The collaborative nature of the TC Student Council will break down silos between degree programs and status, and connect the college in greater university initiatives and conversations.

Why is diversity, equity, and inclusion important to you? DEI, particularly equity, is important to me because the increasing diversity of the world will require diverse solutions when problem solving.
