Advancement works closely with the academic leadership team and senior staff to design, implement, and manage a comprehensive, proactive plan to expand and enhance all of the college's external relationships, including development, alumni relations, branding, visibility, media and marketing campaigns. Staff in development, marketing/communications, and career services fall under the umbrella of advancement.

Cynthia Radecki
Assistant Dean for Advancement

Cynthia is an architect, practice leader, and Taubman alum who also has senior experience in development. She previously served as Senior Director of Major Gifts with the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Prior to Ross, Radecki worked for several years at the private sector firms of Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture and Albert Kahn Associates, Inc. Radecki received her Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. She was the first Intern Development Program Coordinator in the State of Michigan and the first woman to receive the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Michigan Young Architect of the Year in 1995. She also served for many years on the boards of AIA Detroit and AIA Michigan.

 


 

Lynette Anderson
Assistant to the Assistant Dean for Advancement

As the Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Advancement, Lynette works with the assistant dean, academic leadership team, and senior staff to advance the development of Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Prior to joining the University, Lynette worked in the private sector where she was business manager as well as executive assistant to the CEO. She brings more than ten years of executive level administrative experience to her role. She holds a business administration degree from Maranatha University.

 


 

Sheila May
Events and Public Programming Manager

As the Events and Public Programming Manager, Sheila is responsible for working with faculty and staff to conceive and execute high-level events for the college including lecture series, symposiums, commencement, homecoming, and alumni/donor stewardship events. She previously served as Events Manager at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business where she worked to produce recruiting and student admission events, local and regional RossTalks alumni events, commencement and homecoming activities each year, along with the annual MLK Symposium and Handleman lecture series. Possessing more than ten years of event management experience, Sheila brings to the college an ability to work creatively to develop memorable and successful events for students, faculty, and alumni.

 


 

Development

The staff of this office is primarily responsible for the school's fundraising activities. This office also serves as the connection for the approximately 10,000 living Taubman College alumni.

Julia Broadway
Director, Development and Alumni Relations

Prior to her current position, Julia spent 2.5 years at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business as Associate Director of Development, where she worked with alumni across Michigan and the Southeastern US. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Director of the Annual Fund at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Julia holds a BA from the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science and the Arts, an MA in West European Studies from Indiana University, and an MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan's School of Education.

As Associate Director of Major Gifts, Olga is responsible for building and managing a portfolio of donors with an emphasis on prospect discovery and qualification. She will ensure appropriate contact and effective stewardship to build productive relationships to cultivate major gifts.

 


 

Lisa PowersLisa Powers
Annual Giving and Stewardship Officer

Lisa is responsible for leading annual giving, stewardship, and a variety of alumni engagement activities. She will develop and write annual fund appeals, write and send acknowledgement letters, plan new stewardship activities, continue development of a lead annual giving program, and support the director of development with the alumni council to provide student centered philanthropy education programs.

 


 

Marketing and Communications

The communications and marketing staff oversees internal and external communications, including media relations, marketing, events, website, digital signage, hallway displays, and publications for Taubman College. In addition, the staff develops and implements graphic, style, and editorial standards. 

Kent Love-Ramirez
Director of Marketing and Communications

Kent has worked in marketing and communications roles for nearly 30 years, with much of that time in higher education. Prior to joining the team at Taubman College, he served as director of development marketing and communications at Michigan Medicine, and director of communications for academic units at two other tier-one research universities - the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs and Michigan State University College of Law. Possessing a range of expertise in integrated marketing, brand management, print and digital communications, strategic planning, program development, event management, and promotions, Kent brings to the college demonstrated achievement in leading teams and building a best-in-class marketing and communications operation.

 


 

Liz Fisher
Assistant Director of Communications

Liz (she/they) shares college and alumni news through avenues including the Taubman College news center and the Portico alumni magazine. She manages and supports the creation of marketing content including donor, alumni, and admissions materials and publications. Liz is a University of Michigan alum with an M.A. from the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education. Liz is passionate about telling the stories of our alumni, students, and faculty and brings more than seventeen years of experience at the university to the role. 

 


 

Liz Momblanco

Liz maintains the overall Taubman College brand materials and visual identity. She is responsible for the design and production of marketing and promotional materials from concept to print. Projects include posters, exhibit and event branding, alumni publications, admissions materials, brochures, postcards, signage, stationery, advertisements, and promotional give-aways. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, Liz worked at Gyro Creative Group in Detroit and Hour Detroit Magazine. Liz received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Creative Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from the University of Michigan.

 


 

Devin O'Neill
Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Devin coordinates a portfolio of responsibilities and provides general support for planning and implementing targeted strategies including creating written, digital, and multimedia content to support multichannel strategies; managing projects; and assisting with a variety of other priorities. He comes to us from MAD Creative Concepts where he was a marketing manager. He also has additional years of marketing experience from his time with Vail Resorts and Finlandia University. Devin holds a master's degree in sports management and a bachelor of science in advertising and public relations.

 


 

L Shine
Digital Marketing Manager

L manages marketing communication strategies, including admissions marketing, digital advertising, and social media to generate leads and continue growing the number of qualified applicants to our programs in architecture, urban planning, urban technology, and urban design. They have years of experience in marketing, design, and communications strategy and come to us from the University of Alaska Anchorage. L holds a master of arts in digital marketing and data analytics and a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design and illustration. With their plethora of knowledge paired with their passion for marketing, L is a skilled marketer and manager.

 


 

Jesse Schmidt
Web Designer / Administrator Senior

Jesse manages Taubman College’s web-based initiatives and digital solutions, including external and internal websites. He has years of experience in web management, primarily in higher education, and most recently with the University of Florida. Throughout his career, Jesse has built and maintained websites that current and future employees, students, and alumni routinely utilize to find resources and information. His goal is always to transform complex information into a user-friendly web experience for his constituents. Jesse holds a bachelor’s degree in visual communication technology and is skilled in web technology and design, as well as accessibility and inclusivity.

Lou Ecken Kidd
Director of Career and Professional Development

As Director of Career and Professional Development, Lou provides individual career strategy meetings for students and alumni, presents career skill development workshops, promotes networking opportunities between students and professionals, and collaborates on major career efforts including the Spring Break Externship Program and the fall and winter Career Fairs. Prior to joining Taubman College, Lou served as the Director of Alumni Engagement (and before that, Career Services Coordinator) at Alma College, a small private college in the middle of Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Alma College, and then came to the University of Michigan for dual degrees: Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health. 


 

Shane Polich
Career Advisor

As the career advisor, Shane engages and mentors students and alumni in their career development journey as well as developing programming to bring students, alumni, and employers together. Prior to joining Taubman College, he gained experience in career advising, mentorship, and programming at multiple universities in southeast Michigan. Shane holds two degrees from Eastern Michigan University: a bachelor of business administration, and a master of arts with a concentration in educational leadership.
