Financial Planning, Management and Research Administration

The Financial Planning, Management and Research Administration team provides support, leadership and resources to encourage responsible stewardship of financial resources. Staff members work collaboratively with faculty and doctoral students to prepare  grant proposals and administer sponsored projects. The team also provides data pulls and analysis for internal and external reporting.

Financial and Research Administration staff serves the College as a collaborative partner to help students, faculty and staff with procurement, financial services, budgeting, grant pre and post award and related business support needs.

Earl Bell
Chief Financial Officer

Earl provides strategic and operational leadership for the administrative functions of Taubman College including business services, media center, facilities, and information technology. He previously served as the associate director of business operations for MHealthy Health and Wellbeing Services at U-M. Prior to MHealthy, Earl served in numerous capacities within U-M's central financial administration over his 22 year career including Financial Operations, the Treasurer’s Office, the Office of Financial Analysis and Student Life. Earl earned his bachelor of administration in finance & accounting and master of business administration from Eastern Michigan University. He serves as secretary on the Board of Directors for the University of Michigan Credit Union and is also chair of the Central Administration of College and University Business Officers Member Relations & Communications Committee.



Megan Xu
Financial Manager

Megan is a financial manager serving as a key partner to the chief financial officer. Her major responsibilities are applying analytical and critical thinking skills to deliver information to key stakeholders, exploring opportunities to enhance revenue generation, identifying business issues and recommending improvements, and using reporting and analytics to guide strategy that aligns with the College’s strategic plan. Before joining Taubman College, Megan was a Senior Budget Analyst at Executive Business Services where she provided budget planning, financial, procurement, and HR consulting services to several Vice President Offices. Megan began her career with U-M in 2009 working as a financial specialist at the Department of Radiation Oncology in the Health System. Megan holds an M.S. in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.



Jacqueline Crawford
Operations Manager

As the Taubman College Operations Manager, Jacqui will lead the Facilities, Media Center and IT support teams. Jacqui holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to working at Taubman, Jacqui worked as a Facilities Assistant in LSA Facilities, an Operations Manager at Michigan Medicine and had the unique opportunity as a Service Management and Quality Analyst at the campus Shared Services Center to collaborate on process improvement initiatives with many central units, schools and colleges across the University. Jacqui also serves as a volunteer employee advisor in Title IX Sexual Misconduct cases for the University of Michigan.

Zackary Staley
Senior Research Administrator

Zack joined Taubman College in March 2020 and has been with the University of Michigan since 2016. As the Senior Research Administrator, Zack is responsible for managing Taubman’s research funding, maintaining sponsor compliance, and providing support to research personnel. Prior to working at Taubman, Zack worked as a Research Administrator in the Aerospace Engineering department under the College of Engineering. Zack earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Business Management from Eastern Michigan University, and is currently working towards earning his master’s degree in Program and Project Management from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, Zack enjoys traveling, playing guitar, scuba diving, and spending time with friends and family.
