2022 Wallenberg Juror Lecture Elisa Iturbe, "At Home at Risk"

March 18, 2022 at 1:15 pm

Elisa Iturbe teaches design studios and seminars at the Yale School of Architecture, where she also coordinates the dual-degree program between the School of Architecture and the School of the Environment. In addition, she teaches design, formal analysis, and explores the relationship between urban form and fossil capitalism at The Cooper Union.

Iturbe is also co-founder of Outside Development, a design and research practice that considers race, class, labor, climate, and capitalism alongside form, proportion, and the production of urban fabric. The work is currently focused on the spatial and architectural possibilities of community land ownership, specifically in relation to de-industrialization, self-sustaining community systems, and climate mitigation. Her writings have been published in Log, Perspecta, New York Review of Architecture, AA, Files, and Dearq. She guest edited Log 47, titled Overcoming Carbon Form, and co-wrote a book with Peter Eisenman titled Lateness.
