Black History Month Film Screening: The Pruitt Igoe Myth

Join NOMAS, DEI, and UPSA in celebrating Black History Month with series of events throughout the month of February. On February 19, Please join us for the screening of The Pruitt Igoe Myth, a 2011 documentary film detailing the history of the Pruitt–Igoe public housing complex in St. Louis, Missouri, and the eventual decision to raze the entire complex in 1976. Afterwards, there will be a short guided discussion.

In conjunction with the Black History Month events, an exhibition will be on display in the Taubman College Gallery from February 5 – February 26. Making Visible: Black Contributors in the Built Environment showcases 40 notable Black architects, planners, and social innovators who have played a past and present role in the development of pedagogy and practice of the built environment.
