Cultural Competency Collective Workshop: Building Awareness

The CCC Presents a skill building workshop designed to help students explore cultural identity run by Linh Nguyen from Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs.

The Cultural Competency Collective invites you to join us for the first workshop in a series on cultural competency. This workshop is open to students in Urban Planning and Architecture, and will focus on how we can be more aware of our own cultural identities and why this skill matters. This session will focus on identifying your own cultural background and recognizing bias and discomfort.

Cultural competency is a key skill for planners and architects, both in school and when we move into the professional world. When we work with diverse stakeholders and/or create spaces that are made to serve them, it is important to understand how culture plays into our work. This workshop series is organized with the intent to help us improve our abilities and make us more adaptable as leaders and practitioners.

We hope you will join us on Tuesday, March 22 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Pizza will be provided.

RSVP is preferred – sign up here!
