2017 Architecture Fellows Exhibition

Viola Ago – William Muschenheim Fellow
Viola earned her Master of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Architectural Science from Ryerson University in Toronto. Most recently, she worked as a designer at Morphosis Architects in the Advanced Technology Team and was involved in international design and construction projects. She has previously worked at LA Patterns Inc. in Los Angeles, Perkins Eastman in Toronto, and was a graduate studio teaching assistant at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. She has lectured and has been an invited guest critic at Southern California Institute of Architecture, University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Syracuse School of Architecture, Ryerson University, and American University of Sharjah. Her work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto. Her work has also been featured in the New Scientist Magazine, Archinect, SuckerPunch Daily, Archilibs, and eVolo.

Erik Herrmann – Walter B. Sanders Fellow
Erik is an architectural designer and educator. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design and a Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture where he was awarded the Carroll L.V. Meeks Memorial Scholarship in recognition of outstanding performance in History. Previously, Erik was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Computational Design (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart as a 2014/2015 German Chancellor’s Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Erik’s ongoing research reconsiders contemporary themes and tendencies in the computational design field through the lens of prescient studies completed by a unique cluster of visionary philosophers, poets and computer technicians in the 1960s. Professionally, Erik has practiced with Gray Organschi Architecture in New Haven, CT and Trahan Architects in Louisiana. He is currently co-director of Outpost Office.

Hans Tursack – Willard A. Oberdick Fellow
Hans is an artist and designer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His work has been exhibited in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as in Pidgin Magazine, Thresholds Journal, and the Attention Audio Journal. Before receiving his M.Arch from the Princeton University School of Architecture, Hans studied painting at the Cooper Union School of Art. He previously worked for LevenBetts, SAA/Stan Allen Architect and Tod Williams Billie Tsien in New York.
