Gallery Opening Reception: Post-Squat NL / SPR 11

December 14, 2011 at 4:30 pm

“Post-Squat NL” is a research and design project which focused on alternatives in habitation in light of the illegalization of squatting in the Netherlands, led by Lecturer David Eugin Moon as a 2011 spring-travel course. The work examines the new landscape of post-bubble economies investigating the issues of vacancy, temporary use, and reuse. Works in this exhibition were previously shown at de Dependance, Rotterdam in the spring of 2011 under the same title. The current ongoing development of selected projects will be featured in the 2012 International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, titled “Making City.”

The research project is developed by University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning faculty David Eugin Moon, and taught in collaboration with a Rotterdam-based architect Klaas Kresse.
