The book Detroit-Moscow-Detroit: an Architecture for Industrialization explores spatial development, manufacturing, mass production, and organizational planning across lines that ran from Detroit to Moscow and back. The book shows how capitalist and communist built environments in the twentieth century were co-produced in a period of intense technical exchange between two world wars. Contributors to the book include Richard Anderson, Robert Bird, Oksana Chabanyuk, Christina E. Crawford, Robert Fishman, Christina Kiaer, Evgeniia Konysheva, Mark G. Meerovich, Sonia Melnikova-Raich, Lewis H. Siegelbaum, Maria C. Taylor, Claire Zimmerman, and Katherine Zubovich. Co-editor and contributor Jean-Louis Cohen died just as the printed book reached the publisher’s office. This event is dedicated to his memory.

Co-editors Crawford and Zimmerman will lead this presentation, which will include selected chapter authors from the book.
