PARG Doctoral Forum with Edward Soja

October 12, 2011 at 10:00 am - 11:00 am

This week, the PARG Doctoral Forum will be oriented around the work and ideas of Edward Soja, who has agreed to take a leading role in the event. As most of you know, Soja is one of the most prominent figures in urban and spatial theory, and he is giving a lecture here on Tuesday. The Doctoral Forum will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12th from 10 am to 11 am in room 2210 of the Art & Architecture building. This is a valuable opportunity for us to meet Professor Soja, ask questions, and discuss his ideas in an informal setting. Some breakfast-type snacks and juice will be served.

Professor Soja has written many articles and books, some of which you can read (or at least read fragments of) on the web. A good introduction to some of the issues that interest him can be found in chapter 3 of his book Seeking Spatial Justice, which is available as an electronic book through Mirlyn. His lecture on Tuesday will doubtless introduce new topics for us to discuss and raise questions to ask.
