Sustainability without Borders First Semester Meeting

The first mass meeting of the semester for Sustainability without Borders is Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 8 pm in DANA Room 1028.  Sustainability without Borders is a student organization based out of SNRE that is working to create a network of sustainability practitioners who develop and implement environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable projects.  They currently have students working on projects in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Peru, Liberia and China.  For more information, please visit theie website or send an email (sustainabilitywithoutborders-inquiries@umich.edu).

The meeting will have a guest speaker, Lesli Hoey, who will come and give a talk on the history of international development to get all members up to speed on the historical background of the type of work they do.  Lesli is an Assistant Professor of urban and regional planning who teaches graduate courses in international planning in low-income countries, food systems, and program evaluation.  She has current local and international projects, with a particular focus on Bolivia – which is where she grew up!  Her full bio can be found here.  As always there will be food provided – please RSVP.

If you missed the meetings last semester, and are still hoping to get involved – please feel free to join.  There will be members available to discuss current projects and ways to get involved.
