As the outgoing Vice President of Project Management at the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC), Malik Goodwin is responsible for the administration of the daily activities of the DEGC's Project Management Group. Goodwin's duties include the oversight of the planning & real estate strategies, design and engineering, construction, and asset management of buildings and infrastructure to support key development projects, mainly under the auspices of the various public redevelopment authorities that are staffed by the DEGC. Goodwin also provides direct project management services and administrative oversight of a variety of successful projects over the last twelve years, including the rehabilitation of essential downtown and waterfront infrastructure, streetscape and open space improvements, the rehabilitation of, and assisting with the re-positioning of once distressed downtown commercial real estate, the administering of the Detroit Works- Long Term Planning/ Detroit Future City process, the implementation of certain related pilot initiatives, and currently, the administering of the Mt. Elliot Employment District Reinvestment Strategy. Goodwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1997), and a dual Master's of Architecture/ Master of Urban Planning (2002) from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
