Lunch & Learn: Ian Lockwood and Cindy Zerger
"Path as Place, a Sensible Approach to Transportation Planning & Urban Design"
Ian Lockwood, P.E. serves as the Regional Office Director of Toole Design Group, and is a recognized national leader in sustainable transportation policy and urban design. As a former partner in the Orlando-based Glatting Jackson (which later became AECOM), Ian led a wide variety of transportation projects aimed at making communities more walkable, bikable and transit-friendly. He also served as the City Transportation Planner for the City of West Palm Beach, where he transformed state arterial roads, local roads, and the City’s approach to parking to help the city overcome its blighted condition and evolve into an economically and socially successful city.
Cindy Zerger is an urban designer currently with Toole Design Group. She has experience ranging from small design projects, to large statewide and national research initiatives focused on multimodal transportation planning. Trained in both landscape architecture and planning, Cindy is adept at working toward successful project solutions from both the design and policy perspectives. She has experience in all phases of project development from planning and stakeholder engagement, to design and implementation. Cindy is known for ability to balance having a keen eye for project details, yet a sensitivity to the importance of approaching projects from a comprehensive vantage point.
