Alumni Lunch & Learn: Jamie Simchik (MUP/MBA 2015), "How The APA & AICP Can Help Your Career"
Jamie Simchik is a Principal Planner at Fort Hill Places in Boston, MA. Fort Hill Places is a Division of the Fort Hill Companies LLC, a full-service architectural, engineering and urban planning firm with offices in Massachusetts and Florida. In this capacity, Jamie advises public and private sector clients on a variety of real estate-related matters, including project management, preparation of development guidelines, pro forma creation, marketing, public outreach, entitlement strategies, site planning and transportation planning.
Prior to this current role, Jamie was the Principal of Simchik Planning & Development, an urban/transportation planning and real estate development consulting firm. He was also a Public Engagement Assistant with Regina Villa Associates undertaking public outreach for transportation and infrastructure capital improvement projects in Massachusetts. Additionally, Jamie was a Research Planner with Connor Holmes, an urban planning consulting firm in South Australia, collaborating on a variety of projects for government and private clients.
Jamie is the incoming Vice Chair of Outreach for the APA Transportation Planning Division and the current TPD Vanguard (Emerging Professionals Group) Cabinet Chair as well as the TPD Representative to the APA Smart Cities and Sustainability Initiative. Previously, he was the Student Representative to APA Michigan Board of Directors. Jamie has participated in two ULI Technical Assistance Panels (West Dearborn, MI and Westfield, MA) as well as a ULI Advisory Services Panel (Bellevue, WA) and a Plan NH Charrette (Allenstown, NH). Jamie has a Master of Urban Planning, Master of Business Administration and Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development from the University of Michigan.
