ENGAGE@Taubman: Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese (Lunar) New Year is a Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The festival is usually referred to as the Spring Festival and is one of several Lunar New Years in Asia. Families gather for a large reunion dinner the night before. New clothes, getting money packets and mandarin oranges as well as wearing red are all significant traditions of Lunar New Year.

This year, Student Affairs is excited to celebrate Lunar New Year and usher in the Year of the Pig on Tuesday, Feb 5 from noon to 1:30 pm in the Commons. Lunch will be served. Everyone is invited to participate in this joyous occasion.
