Wilkins a Panelist on "The Social Responsibility of Architects: Civic Life & The Built Environment"

Craig Wilkins, lecturer in architecture, will be a panelist at an upcoming virtual presentation, “The Social Responsibility of Architects: Civic Life & The Built Environment,” hosted by the Pratt Institute. The panel is part of Archtober — the 10th annual, month-long festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions — and will focus on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in architectural practice.

The panel will take place October 29, 2020, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. EDT. Advance registration is required.

Wilkins, a leading scholar of African Americans in the field of architecture, is creative director of the Wilkins Project, a social justice and strategic design alliance. Wilkins is particularly interested in the field of public interest design and the production of various forms of space; understanding publically accessible and responsive design can radically transform the trajectory of lives and environments, especially for those on the margins of society.
