Velikov and Thün Deliver “From Matter to Territory” Lecture at University of Colorado Denver

Velikov and Thün deliver “From Matter to Territory” lecture at University of Colorado Denver College of Architecture and Planning.

Kathy Velikov associate professor of architecture, and Geoffrey Thün professor of architecture will deliver a lecture, “From Matter to Territory” on February 24 at 7:00pm EDT as part of CU Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning’s winter 2021 lecture series. The talk is publicly available online via Zoom.

Velikov and Thün will present the work of their research-based practice,

RVTR, which explores design as a complex negotiation of interlaced material, technological, environmental, and social systems, cultivating an environmental sensibility through praxis and experimentation with the aesthetics, politics, and ecologies of possible architectures and urbanisms. The presentation will discuss the heterogenous and hybrid methods through which a series of recent projects are explored, engaging design from the micro-material scale of responsive envelopes that mediate matter, energy, and human interaction to the macro-territorial scale of urban infrastructures and biopolitical geographies.
