Chris Humphrey is a researcher, designer, and maker focused on circular economies through the reuse of materials (up- and down-cycling) and integrating with digital fabrication technologies.  Humphrey’s research blends vernacular, regionally available materials, waste, and digital manufacturing methods for sustainable construction applications. He also leads product development and robotic fabrication efforts with the Post Rock Research Initiative that is developing exterior cladding panels out of post-industrial plastic waste. Chris is currently the Associate Fabrication Manager in the FABLab and a Lecturer III. He holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Research with a concentration in Digital and Material Technologies and a Master of Architecture from Taubman College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Construction Systems Management and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with Honors from the Ohio State University.
