The University of Michigan’s Taubman College is ranked among the nation's top urban and regional planning graduate programs and #1 in the Midwest. Our program leverages interdisciplinary resources and research capabilities unique to U-M and deep regional connections to prepare you to become a leader who plans for and engages with communities for the greater good.
We Push Boundaries. We Solve Problems. We Make a Difference.
Our mission is straight-forward: we believe planning can change the world. You won’t learn to plan for the future using what works now. Instead, you will learn how to anticipate what will work better with courses on topics like climate resilience, food systems, scenario planning, GIS, and racial justice. And with the technologies in our Spatial and Numeric Data Services (SAND) Lab, as well as courses and workshops in GIS, AutoCAD, and other tools, you will explore solutions that break convention while working to improve the quality of life, sustainability, and equity of communities, large and small.
"Taubman College not only allowed me to grow as a planner in leaps and bounds, but it has also provided me with an incredibly supportive community of peers to learn from, lean on, and form long-lasting friendships."
— Srishti Jaipuria
