Danielle Rivera wins Best Poster Award at ACSP 2014

Danielle Rivera, a Doctoral Student in Urban Planning program, won the Best Poster award at the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning’s 2014 Annual Conference. Her work, “Non Profit and CDC Organization in Southern Texas Colonias”, was the recipient of this honor, a national award presented in front of planning faculty and doctoral students from around the country. The poster was lauded by the award jury for being both intensely eye-catching and extremely thought-provoking. Rivera’s poster analyzes the collective effects of colonias, communities near the U.S.-Mexico border home to 1.6 million people and known for inadequate housing and a dearth of basic services. More information on the ACSP’s Annual Conference may be found here: http://www.acsp.org/conferences/annual_conference.
