Wilkins Guest Speaker in Louisiana Black in Design Conference, organized by NOMAS

Dr. Craig Wilkins spoke on March 4, 2016 at Louisiana State University’s College of Art + Design, delivering a satellite lecture as part of the Black in Design Conference. The inaugural Black in Design conference was held in October 2015 at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (HGSD) and was organized by the HGSD African American Student Union. Seeking to recognize the contributions of African descendants to the design field and broaden the definition of designer, the Black in Design Conference promotes the building of just and equitable spaces at every scale. The LSU lectures built upon the conversation started at the inaugural Black in Design Conference.

Wilkins was joined by fellow HGSD panelist Sara Zewde, designer at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in Seattle. The satellite lecture was supported and organized by the LSU School of Architecture and the LSU National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS). Wilkins and Zewde co-hosted a Q&A session after the lectures.
