Dueweke Featured In Michigan Radio Story on Detroit Neighborhoods

Eric Dueweke, Lecturer in Urban Planning and Taubman College Outreach Coordinator, was featured in a Michigan Radio story on Detroit’s imbalanced regrowth. The story points out how Downtown and Midtown seem to be getting a majority of the city’s investment while some neighborhoods continue to struggle. Mayor Mike Duggan recently announced new neighborhood development programs, but those efforts still seem to overlook neighborhoods like MorningSide. Dueweke, a resident of MorningSide for 24-years, took the Michigan Radio team on a tour of the neighborhood highlighting its potential. He hopes that Mayor Duggan will take more input from residents in his new focus on the neighborhoods and asks “If we can’t –we the city- if we can’t save MorningSide, then what hope is there for Detroit’s comeback?”
