Anya Sirota Named Director of the ArcPrep Program

Assistant Professor of Architecture Anya Sirota has been named Director of the ArcPrep Program. Michigan ArcPrep provides high-school juniors from Detroit education in architecture and design thinking as well as career counseling.

Sirota is the principal the Detroit architecture and art practice, Akoaki, and her work utilizes interdisciplinary research and intensive fieldwork to produce work that focuses on the relationship between contemporary cultural production and architecture. She is the 2013 recipient of Architect Magazine’s Research and Development (R+D) award and the Donna M. Salzer Award for Teaching Excellence as a Taubman faculty. She has also been voted one of the 30 Most Admired Educators by Design Intelligence.
