Video: Studio Sessions – India Solomon

Urban Planning student India Solomon talks about her interest in design, development and community engagement, as well as the connections she has made because of highly-connected faculty in the program, helping her secure two internships and job placement with Century Partners in Detroit. She talks about Associate Professor of Practice in Urban and Regional Planning Marc Norman’s equitable development class and form-based code in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood. She plans to complete her Masters of Urban Planning degree to help define place and to create beautiful spaces in Detroit. Solomon is a Taubman Merit Scholar, Rackham Merit Scholar, and Brademas Fellow.

Her advice to incoming students: Get to know your professors who are highly connected. Find the intersection of your interests with theirs.
